Goals of the Program:
The term “bunk-in” represents a unique community service opportunity with the Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad. The “bunk-in college student” is a person who serves the department and community in a volunteer capacity as a “live-in” or “residential” emergency medical responder.

Location :

The station is located in the center of Vestal, and is  3 miles from  The State University New York at Binghamton , and 10 miles from the SUNY Broome campus.

Accommodations:

There are (3) bunk in rooms available. in addition; other  features include a full kitchen, open living area , and a training /meeting room .

Selecting Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad as the agency of choice :
The Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad responds to approximately 3000 calls a year,  provides mutual-aid to many neighboring municipalities on a regular basis, and responds to  a variety of different incidents . In addition the agency is dedicated to providing the best clinical experience and training to the members .

Live in Extra’s:
Free-Room , Modern Apparatus, Computer and Wireless Internet Access

Obligation:
-Must hold a valid drivers license
-Run (3) 10 hour shifts per week
-Hold a valid CPR card
-Provide copies of Immunizations and Physical
