911 Emergency Response
In case of a medical emergency, call 911! You will be connected to the County Dispatch Center. The dispatcher will collect information, including the location and the nature of the emergency. The dispatcher will then dispatch EMS.
VVES provides BLS (Basic Life Support) and ALS (Advanced Life Support) pre-hospital medical care.
Why do we bill?
VVES does not currently receive any taxpayer support. Our only sources of funding are billing patients’ insurance companies and private donations. Although we manage our budget responsibly, our expenses increase year by year, including salaries of our paid staff; insurance; capital expenses (vehicles and equipment); vehicle, equipment, and buildings & grounds maintenance; fuel; and supplies.
Event Stand-By’s
- Vestal EMS can provide BLS (Basic Life Support) or ALS (Advanced Life Support) stand-by services for special events. The crew and ambulance are parked at your event location, treat people onsite as needed, and provide emergency transport to the hospital as needed.
- Non-committed BLS stand-by’s may be provided at no cost (although a donation is encouraged) depending on crew availability. During a non-committed stand-by, the stand-by crew may have to leave to respond to an emergency call.
- ALS and committed stand-by’s may be provided depending on crew availability. Contact us for pricing and for more information.
